This speaks to me on more than one level. it would be perfect photo if by some chance there wasn't anyone behind the man in the window.

Absolutely brilliant photo, there's so much here its hard to take your eyes off it. The composotion of the train, the vibrant green, the guy looking through the window as if to say "great, another day at work" :)

The trusty old Yamanotesen. This shot makes me miss Japan so much.

I grew up in Japan and used to commute by train - jam-packed one - until I moved to Canada. I actually have an experience missing a train by getting pushed out from the one I was already on, because the station staff was pushing more people in from other doors!

When I saw this picture, at the first moment I didn't notice a man in the window. He's a bit scary with his poker face, though I really like this photo. :)

A brilliant capture. Love both the framing and the color. Eye contact with man is great. Sorry i literally flooded with thoughts that come to my mind here, can't seem to put it in a fluid sentence.
I can feel the heat and crowd through this shot. (there i go again)

Love the solid green line. And the fact that most of the figures are wearing it! How awesome is that green tie of the man behind the glass!

Japanese trains usually have closed doors when they drive, so yes, this is taken shortly before it departed ;P

this is the sort of shot that is turning me into an absolute fan of the colour urban city life photographs.

a cute play of colours with the green of the tie. the coat and the train and a lovely play of the reflections, the piercing look of the passenger inside and the unawareness of the one person reflect on the outside

besides the situation in itself makes this very universal, all the people crammed up inside looking down, tired and apparentely not very nice, the awkwardness of being so close to people we don't know
